Schizophrenia Causes

The exact cause of Schizophrenia is not known. There are various factors that contributes the likelihood of becoming ill. The first of these is that there are some families in which a number of people have Schizophrenia or related disorders, so that there seems to be a genetic comment.

The change of someone developing Schizophrenia if their identical twins has it is around one in two and if a parent has it around one in identified range from poor nutrition in the mother during pregnancy.

Factors that may help to trigger an episode of Schizophrenia include stressful life events, trauma and high levels of drugs and alcohol misuse.

As can be seen, there will always be people who have none of these above problems and still become ill with Schizophrenia and other people who experience all of them and remain unaffected. For most people there seems to be a combination of causes of Schizophrenia.
