Major Depression Sign and SymptomsIt is suggested that someone with a major depression would be expected to have 5 or more of the symptoms of depression, including depressed mood or anhedonia, every day or nearly every day for at least two weeks - causing significant impairment in their social life, work life or in other ways, in other words, if the symptoms have adversely affected their home or work life. Someone with Minor Depression would be expected to have between two and four of the depression symptoms, including depressed mood or anhedonia, everyday or nearly every day for at least 2 weeks. Again, this would cause significant impairment in their social life or in other important ways.
